Most of the time, create the future perfect with will + have + past participle.
With a few verbs, we use will + be + past participle.
When to Use the Future PerfectUse the future perfect to relate a future event and emphasize time.
Examples
I will have finished my internship in three months.
I will be done with my Master's degree in two years.
Note: In both of these examples, the simple future could be used as well.
I will finish my Master's degree in two years. = simple statement
I will be done with my Master's degree in two years. = the speaker is emphasizing the two years and the future achievement
With the
future perfect, however, you do need to
specifiy time.
It's okay to say: I will finish my master's degree. This shows you plan to finish it.
Do
not say: I will be done with my Master's degree.
This sentence will sound unfinished--add a few words about time, such as
by then,
in four weeks, or
by January 1st.
