Contractions with Will

Contractions: I'll, You'll, He'll, She'll, It'll, We'll, They'll
Pronunciation: remember to speak the words without the apostrophes. Here are a few interesting points.
I'll and aisle are homophones.
He'll and heel are homophones., and so are we'll and wheel.
In it'll, T has a D sound. Pronounce: id'l

Answer the questions using the contractions.

1. When will you take your next vacation?

2. When will you run errands this week?

3. When will you go to a park or to a movie?

4. What do you think I'll be doing next year?

5. Think about a man you know. What will he do soon? How will he do this?

6. Think about a woman you know. What will she do soon? How will she do this?

7. Do you think it'll rain tomorrow? Or do you think it'll be cloudy or sunny?

8. Do you think it'll be hot, warm or cold tomorrow?

9. What are some of your family's plans for this year, some things you'll do?

10. Describe some friends again. What are some things they'll do this year?

In casual English, Americans also attach will to regular nouns.

Examples:
Be careful! That cat'll bite.
The bus driver'll give you directions.
That famous author'll speak at the university on Wednesday.

Pronunciation tip: If you have learned American T sounds, apply them here too! The 'll sound is just like 'le, there is a soft, neutral vowel before a final L. This means cat'll sounds exactly like cattle.

The future perfect tense is also used to sound casual. We often use it to describe dreams about the future.

5. What about your company? Use we'll or they'll to describe what the company will be doing in the future.
