Google Guilty of Anti-Trust?

WATCH  VIDEO

Google is facing accusations of anti-trust due to their recent upgrade which gives a boost to the Google Plus social network in search results. When users perform a search while logged into Google Plus, especially regarding an individual, results from the social network will have prominent positions. Twitter's lead lawyer has spoken out actively against the change. Google spokespersons have countered the accusations by saying that the changes are part of their larger goal to personalize searches.

The law in question is the Sherman Antitrust Act which is designed to prohibit monopoly and maintain fair competition in the market. Specifically, companies are not allowed to use their dominance in one field to gain dominance in another. Microsoft was prosecuted under this act in the 1990's for using their PC dominance to promote their browser, Internet Explorer.
