Watch Video Google has removed snippets of customer reviews which it took from other websites for use on its Google Places service. This follows the disclosure of a U.S. antitrust investigation into Google's business practices. Google has drawn fire from other web companies which say that Google gives preferential treatment to its own services in search results. Google denies this and they state that they create their services to benefit users. They also state use of the fair-use doctrine as a reason why they could utilize the reviews. The FTC, the Federal Trade Commission, has not accused Google of wrong-doing at this time. |
